I bought this dish of curried duck from Kazi Hotel & Restaurant for this week’s #Foodchallenge cover photo.
Every week (Monday to Sunday), food and drinks-related days are observed in many countries. We will mention some dates of a week that are related to the observance of food or drink of a country and you can participate in this weekly challenge every week. Please read this post or watch this video to know about the details/rules of this challenge if you are really interested to participate.
This week we have many, many delicious, hot-spicy, and sweet foods. So it is a great chance for the food lover LGs to participate. We have Coffee and Popcorn in this week’s #FoodChallenge that will attract most of the participants. Curried Duck or Pie with two different flavors will attract the participants similarly. We have some drinks, and many more items to participate in this week. So, let’s see the amazing POI along with mouthwatering food photos from our LGs.
This week (Jan.10 – Jan. 16) we have received 11 submissions in 9 categories. let’s see the result.
This week Olgaklimchik has made my work very easy. As she and her submitted POIs won the trophies only. A big congratulations to her. Also, a lot of thanks to the other participants.
It’s my most favorite drink besides mineral water, and maybe a drink that I can’t live without if coffee doesn’t exist
I’m a black coffee without sugar fan, but since this kind of drink is too mainstream, so this time let me share you a cool POI with a great coffee creation.
Still remember that @LuigiZ also had a good Peking Duck dining experience, and @KarenVChin do you like Peking Duck? If so, it would be great to share your favorite POI through this challenge
@Velvel , your post on Peking Duck is making me drool. The other day I was talking about it with my husband that it’s been so long I haven’t eaten it. Now after this post I feel like I should plan a visit in next 3 days. My mouth is watering now.
As mentioned by @SoniaK Apu, your photo of roasted Peking duck is really mouthwatering. I am sure it tastes super with the sauce in your photo. In our country, sometimes we make curried duck along with pieces of coconut. It also tastes nice. I will try to share a photo of that if I get it. Thanks a lot for sharing amazing photos of roasted Peking duck and coffee, thanks a lot for participating in this week’s #fooldchallenge. Stay safe.
@Velvel – I have happy childhood memories eating Peking Duck. My family went to many weddings, anniversary parties, and big milestone birthday parties, with this dish being part of the Chinese banquet menu. I had always enjoyed it when the waiter came and personally made a “duck sandwich” for each person and served it to us personally at the table.
Also, I ate at the original Quanjude Restaurant many years ago. I believe they now have different locations around Beijing. The dining room is really a Dining Hall. It was the biggest Chinese restaurant I have ever been. The duck there was different from what I grew up eating. The skin was not as crispy. The color of the duck skin was not a dark chocolate brown.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a Peking Duck POI for @MukulR 's Food Challenge since my Peking Duck days have been before I became a Local Guide seven years ago. And with COVID raging on, it looks like I will not be anywhere near a Chinese Restaurant for the foreseeable future.
Thank you for tagging me as well. As a Coffee lover , I love hangout with friends even alone at Coffee shop. I do agree with you, its like a day without a cup of Coffee. Feel like something lose in my life .lol.
Anyway, I am fan of Black Coffee too. Especially Indonesian Coffee, such as Gayo, Lampung, Sidikalang,Toraja,Bali, etc. Good taste and strong.
Many thanks to kak @indahnuria who always give me gifts “Lampung Coffee” in several Times.
I love coffee! Sometimes I go to this coffee place near my house and I enjoy watching the scenery around me or reading a book while sipping some coffee.

thank you for tagging me and yes you do remember very well, good memory! I had it in Shanghai some years ago and I still remember that amazing and delicious experience, however it was just before I was even a Local Guide so no uploaded photos and reviews .
Please find below a few photos, the chef cutting the slices was really nice! I’m not able to find its POI on Maps.
HI @MukulR , I’m sorry I couldn’t take part in this week’s challenge as I wanted to post something from my own experience (Peking Duck). But as I fell sick since Thursday and I am too weak to go out for dine in right now. I am hoping it’s not covid. My test results are due tomorrow. If I am fine next week, I hope take part in next week’s challenge. Insha’Allah. Apologies for letting you down.
@Velvel the best pecking duck I had is when I was in Singapore strolling down the market and there was the steam duck food stall we still talk about how yummy it was please do not ask to give you the POI since I was like 20 years ago
How nice to hear that you’ve been to Quanjude before. And it’s also good to know that you love Peking duck!
Yes, Quanjude has so many outlets that spread along China. And for the international outlets, we could find this restaurant in Australia, Canada, Portugal, and Japan. I was so lucky to have a peking duck experience at the first Quanjude restaurant in Beijing, China.
I hope you could get another yummy peking duck experience again soon!
