Every week (Monday to Sunday), food and drinks-related days are observed in many countries. We will mention some dates of a week that are related to the observance of food or drink of a country and you can participate in this weekly challenge every week. Please read this post or watch this video to know about the details/rules of this challenge if you are really interested to participate.
In this week’s #foodchallenge, we have a lot of mouth-watering foods for participation with POI. This week has a flavor of Christmas. and New Year celebration. As a result, most of the dishes of this week can be considered as Christmas Foods or New Year foods, more or less. This week we will be very happy if you can share a photo of any restaurant or food shop with Christmas or new year decorations.
Happy New Year to all.

Hello, @SarveswarB Thanks a lot for the info. The website, I use for this #FoodChallenge, did not show any result for this day, or somehow I missed this. Anyway, I have added the food item to the list, pls check. If possible you can try this food for this week . Stay safe.
Thanks a lot for your nice support from the beginning of this #FoodChallenge@KamalHossenR We will be eagerly waiting to see your this week’s submission. Stay safe.
And I searched my map reviews but didn’t find any places that would help me to take part in this week challenge, and the place which I found near me have not visited by me yet. Hope in future I will visit them.
Hello @SarveswarB , if you read the rules of this #FoodChallenge you will see that visiting the POI is not mandatory to participate in this challenge. If you want to participate, you can submit a maps link even without visiting it but it must be related to the week’s specific food. I hope it is clear. Stay safe.
Thanks a lot for your nice submission @SarveswarB I am really glad to get you with us again. Thanks a lot for participating with a lot of Box of Chocolates. I hope this food will get more submissions this week. Stay safe.
Mukul, I am not sure if the maps links next to my name are broken or incorrect. Other than just the first link, none of the others take me to the POI, rather they take me to your Connect post. Could you please check it out? If this is what it was supposed to be then it’s fine.
This week looks delicious, as usual. Thanks to the season, nuts and chocolates and candies and all sorts of delicious foods are back in trend. And ahem, so are the drinks. This week I want to take part in National Fruitcake Day and also in National Champagne Day.
Collin Street Bakery is a chain store that are famous for especially their fruitcakes. They don’t just sell it in store, they also ship it worldwide. In my review, I shared my experience out there.
Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House is famous for their burgers as well as for their well shelved bar. We went there for a meetup. It was a lovely experience. In my review I shared my experience here, though it doesn’t tell anything about champagne. But they do serve champagne as well as many other drinks.
Chase Place is a bar, even though it is marked as a restaurant. People go there mostly for drinks and karaoke. Their karaoke nights are my favorite. I sang there too several times and was loved by so many people. In my review I mentioned what to expect there. And guess what, they serve free champagne on New year’s Eve to welcome the new year together. New year’s eve in this part of the world probably is never complete without champagne. No wonder the National Champagne Day falls on the 31st.
I think Buffet (2 January) will be an easy option for us in BD . Box of chocolate is also nice to participate with. Anyway, thanks a lot for your nice submission in this week’s #Foodchallenge@AbdullahAM .Bhai.
Hello, @user_not_found Thanks a lot for participating in this week’s #FoodChallenge with Box of Chocolates. Thanks for sharing the nice photo and the screenshot of your review. Stay safe and healthy.
First of all, be sure all your links work perfectly @SoniaK Apu. Thanks a lot for participating in this week’s #FoodChallenge with Fruitcake and Champagne. All the photos look really great, thanks for the screenshot of your reviews also. By seeing the photo of the Fruitcake below (the right one) believe me, I thought of it as a jewelry box, first . I thought you are showing your secret box of gems, diamonds,s, and gold haha. This photo really made me a little confused. Anyway, as new is knocking us at our door, below photo of Jalebi is for your celebrate New Year. This is a special kind of thin Jalebi sold in our Kazipara area. It is crispy and sweet. If eat it hot, I am sure, you must love it. I like to tag @Velvel Apu to see this Jalebi photo here.
Hi @MukulR not sure if I posted broken link or not. Apologies for that if I did.
Yes, those cake boxes are sold that way, in a mahogany box. Those are for special gifts. However, there are tin containers sold separately as well. I saved all 4 containers even after the cakes were finished. I love those tiny beautiful boxes.
This jelabi (don’t we call jilapi in our language?) surely made me hungry and drool. This is far better than those thick Bombay jilapis sold by Gawsia Market. There used to another type of jilapis lighter in color and much thinner. We used to call those chickon jilapi. I love those jilapis the most. Thank you for sharing the picture. I am still drooling for @Designer_Biswajit 's jolpai achaar though.
You are absolutely right about the Chikon Jilapi and Bombay Jilapi. Chikon Jilapi is more crispy whereas Bombay Jilpi is soft and filled with sugar syrup. Sugar syrup is used for light color Jilapi whereas molasses syrup is used in brown Jilpi. I took the below photo from the album of the 128th Meet-up#BDLG in Sonagaon and the photo was taken by @MahabubMunna Bhai. In this photo, you can see both the brown and white Jilapi in the same frame. BTW, hese jilapis are neither Chikon nor Bombay, in between of them in thickness. I hope you will like them also.
Thanks a lot for the details of the Mahogony Box for Fruit Cake @SoniaK . It is really unique and amazing also. Stay safe and healthy.
