Every week (Monday to Sunday), food and drinks-related days are observed in many countries. We will mention some dates of a week that are related to the observance of food or drink of a country and you can participate in this weekly challenge every week. Please read this post or watch this video to know about the details/rules of this challenge if you are really interested to participate.
In this week’s #FoodChallenge, we have 13 items in our menu. This week we have Coffee day in Portugal and Espresso Day in Italy. As Coffee is our one of most favorite items, this is going to get most attention this week. We have Glazed Ham and Baked Ham for ham lover LGs. For health conscious LGs we Mushroom and Egg Benedict. We think Peach Cobber and Malbec will also attract many LGs.
This week we have received 5 submissions in 4 categories. let’s see the result.
Combined Category: In this category jayasimha78 won the trophy. The POI submitted by artha_julienava won the trophy as well. Please note Mbak Julie is new in our community. A special and warm welcome to her.

Big Congratulations to the winners!
[Unfortunately, this time I am facing a problem to fetch data from my excel sheet. Sorry for the inconveniences.]
I don’t have a closer picture of Egg Benedict as it was not my food, when we dined in there. Egg benedict consists of bacon, which I cannot consume for religious reason. But the sight of egg benedict is really tempting. Two halves of English muffins, topped with bacon and poached eggs make it look delicious. I bet it tastes great too. Egg benedict is a popular breakfast in America, especially in the East Coast, i.e. New York.
Very well done @artha_julienava . You came and won a trophy. Good start indeed. I hope you will participate in this week’s #FoodChallenge also. We will be waiting for your nice submission. Stay safe and healthy. Regards
Welcome back @SoniaK Apu. We missed you a lot in some of our previous episodes of #FoodChallenge. We are happy again to get you back among us. Thanks for participating with a mouth-watering food photo. Thanks a lot for sharing the details of Egg Benedict. I feel very much interested about the Whiskey Cake that you have mentioned in your nice review. I hope to test it one day . Thanks a lot for your participation. Stay safe.
You should try the whiskey cake @MukulR , even though one of the key ingredients here is whiskey. It is so delicious that you will want to have a second slice, I promise.
I need to check for recipes of Whiskey Cake @SoniaK Apu. But if I could manage the ingredients that will be really amazing I think. Thanks a lot for the suggestion. শুভ নববর্ষ।
I wouldn’t recommend to make the whiskey cake at home, @MukulR , for two reasons. One, if you are not a skilled baker you might spoil it. Two, if you buy the whiskey only for making the cake, that will be a total waste. I mean, you won’t need a whole bottle of whiskey to make just one cake. I’m sure there are plenty of ways to substitute alcohol in a recipe. For example, in this article, they said a teaspoon or two non-alcoholic vanilla extract can be used to replace bourbon. But how will you call a cake a whiskey cake if it doesn’t have whiskey? I wonder!
Whiskey cake without a drop of whiskey, does not make any sense @SoniaK Apu. I have read the article you shared. It also says some kinds of alcohol in different ways. It seems, I have to abandoned this project. Thanks a lot for your nice comments and suggestion. Stay safe and healthy. Regards.
Though late is better than never, we are excited to think that we will get you with us from next week’s #FoodChallenge@indahnuria . I hope your participation will make this challenge more excited. Stay safe and healthy.
