When we were young the twin cities of Rawlpindi and Islamabad had a 3 proper fast food and other than the five stars almost 4-5 resturants and one true ice cream parlour . Desi Food was always better in Rawalpindi but for a burger one had to go to Islamabad that’s why the islamabadies called burgers and us pindi boys anday wala burger. With the khokha at the peer sohwa came on scene first as a tea place and than breakfast and now almost late night food place. this gave birth to one of my favourite desi food places Monal . now with monal downtown open in Rawalpindi its my favourite place from Hi-tea to dinner highly recommended and excellent spot have a ramazan sehri . the rooftop with a serene breeze is a place to sit and have food even during the warm ramzans , with their mango lassi extremely addictive . It no doubt has replaced the desi sehri of kartarpur pindi as theres no rush and excellent environment
