Once upon a time there was a little girl that lived in a small town where everyone knew each other and had a very dull daily routine. She was grateful that the school library was huge so she could read books and she loved geography. She wanted to visit new and unknown places,to meet new people, to try different food. But that was quite impossible because of the country she lived in. Slowly, slowly the life in her country began to change so she could watch more documentary movies on the only one available TV channel. Until… she saw something in a movie that made her speechless!
This final scene from a movie changed her life forever. At first she thought that was Hollywood background but after many years she found out that this is a real place. In this moment she promised herself that one day she will visit this place. And many more other places.
Many years passed by. The little girl turned into a young woman keeping a precious dream very deep in her hart.
The life was generous to her so she was able to visit many amazing places.
She went to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Greece,… She used to live in Sicily Italy, with Etna volcano in her backyard. She did 5 days trip to Rome, saw the Vatican,The Roman Forum, The Roman Catacombs and the Colosseum. She visited the beautiful Bulgarian mountains and small villages. She went to Egypt and saw the Great Pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, she saw king Tutankhamun’s Mummy. She found Nemo swimming in the Red sea with the dolphins. Meanwhile she got as a birthday gift 30 minutes swimming with a dolphin in Turkey in Antalia.He was a handsome boy named Star. The last 10 years of her life she lives in Belgium and she can travel more than ever. Weekends in London or Paris and Milan. Visits to Disney Land Paris,
Eiffel tower etc.
But something was missing…
Until a month ago she did it!
She visited THE PLACE!
She became Indiana Jones in Petra! It was one of the highlights of her life!
After more than 30 years keeping this dream in my hart , walking trough the Siq ,seeing the The Treasury - I cried.
Mixed emotions came to my hart and I cried for long time. I was there for 3 days in Petra park.
I climbed all of the rocks that I could, checked out all of the caves that i had access to and took great pictures and videos.
That was one of a kind travel and life experience and I do recommend, if you have a chance to visit Petra, please do so. You will return home richer than ever! Later I realized that we can follow our dreams and they can lead us to great places and experiences. That only the sky is the limit for our dreams, destinations and goals.
