FleetWeek San Francisco is a week long event which happens in October of every year. San Francisco Fleet Week celebrates the Bay Area naval tradition, honoring men & women serving in our armed forces— also facilitating disaster preparedness.
Some of the cool events to watch are ‘Parade of the Ships’ Naval ships pass under the Golden Gate Bridge. Also Airshows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which includes Blue Angels. Images I posted here are captured during 2018 Fleet Week Blue Angels airshow. Picture above shows the final formation of Blue Angels over Alcatraz island. If you are visiting San Francisco in October (6-14 in 2019), this is a must visit event.
There is nothing like Fleet Week in San Francisco @jayasimha78
Weather is always warm and gorgeous. People no matter their age are like kids watching happily as the Blue Angels fly across and around the Bay during the weekend.
Prior to the weekend it always fun and exciting to hear the roar of these military jet engines and watching them practice during the work week.
Past I visited Marine forces parade in Sevastopol with my family in my childhood. It was really outstanding and impressive! After all was a great firework. My younger brothers were impressed so much. Unforgettable experience!
It’ll be amazing to visit Fleet Week SF and to see Blue Angels in the sky one day!
@KarenVChin You are absolutely right, there is nothing like fleetweek. I will definitely go to watch. In fact last year I was part of their photography team, had lot of exclusive access. I was able to sail on a Canadian ship which was part of Parade of the ships. I am hoping to get back to their photography team again. Keeping my figures crossed.
@DanniS I am planning to go again. It is generally same spot. Blue Angles routine may change based on weather condition. Some times different aircrafts participate in airshow.
