Fish is always a great choice in Grand Marais Minnesota, USA.

Located in the quaint harbor village of Grand Marais, Minnesota, on Lake Superior’s beautiful North Shore, the Harbor House Grille is a cozy neighborhood restaurant serving up the tastiest handcrafted comfort food.
I had the Walleye Filet which is Canadian walleye lightly breaded in seasoned cornmeal & pan fried golden, served with lemon dill tartar and Minnesota wild rice. Absolutely delicious!!! A must go!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve had a locally caught fried fish @AnthonyAloyeO , but I’m starting to crave it now.

When a restaurant by the sea serves seafood, you just automatically expect more from them. Based on your reaction I’m guessing it was every bit as good as you expected.

Was this their signature dish?

Hi @MortenSI

My rule of thumb is, if you crave it, go get it fast!!! lol!!!

It was fantastic, to say the least. I love tartar sauce too, and because everyone makes it a little differently, theres was special.

They had several special items on their menu, so I can’t definitively say this is their signature dish.

Thanks for the comments, have a beautiful week.

@AnthonyAloyeO what a beautiful meal you had. I would love to ask if this restaurant has an outdoor sitting area. Because I am fascinated with the view😍 while I eat.

@AnthonyAloyeO I’m a huge walleye fan and that whole meal looks just delicious! The closest I’ve been is to Lutsen for winter snow weekend trips. I’ll definitely keep the Harbor House in mind. That, and Sven and Ole’s. Do you recommend that place as well?

I like that rule @AnthonyAloyeO , perhaps I should start using it myself! Unfortunately I live nowhere near the ocean, but I’ll have to see if I can find something to satisfy my craving.

@AnthonyAloyeO Thank you for your reply. I like fish with big bones so I don’t have to be careful too much when I eat it. Or small fish with very small bones that we can chew the bones. Here is one of fish plates I like.

I wrote about it here. If you have time, please check it out.

It’s hard to resist fish and chips when at a restaurant by the sea and your Canadian Wallleye sounds and looks great @AnthonyAloyeO

Hi @Austinelewex

It does have an outdoor sitting area. As a matter of fact, that’s the location I was able to capture the moment from. Yes, its really great, the view while enjoying a sumptuous meal.

Thank you for your comment.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi @PaulJahn

Really? Me too! I love walleye! It was delicious I can’t emphasize it enough. Yes Lutsen is pretty close, it’s also on the North shore of Lake superior. I love when I get an idea for a new place, I haven’t been to Sven and Oles, but I just added it to my list of places to go. Thanks again @PaulJahn

Have a fabulous week.

That’s even better @MortenSI because now you can have a road trip adventure! My advice, do it with a group, you’ll have unforgettable memories just by stopping at random towns along the way and discovering places you’d hardly hear off in the mainstream.

That sounds like a great idea @AnthonyAloyeO , and I still have a bit of summer left to do it. Seeing all the lesser known places and sites are actually my preferred way of travelling. I usually try to stay away from the crowded famous spots.

Hello @Ant_Bad_Yogi

I personally prefer fish with big bones, because I’m not very careful with fish that has small bones.

Yes I’ll definitely check it out, thanks for the comment.
