First verification of business by creator himself

Hi,

I submitted details and received confirmation message that you created a business “PREM DRY FRUITS” on June 13, which is under review.

I tapped on message and found that Google picked up wrong business “Sagar Ratna” and wrong location under the right title i.e. PREM DRY FRUITS.

I know it’s wrong but cannot take it back, can’t delete.

If Google allows first verification by creator himself I could have removed this or could have corrected it and saved people’s time to invest on wrong place.

Hi @OPC1

Thanks for asking. This forum is for the volunteer local guides only. Business owners have their own help pages and forum.

Here is the GBP help center and you find the GBP forum here.

The interests as a business owner and a local guide should not be mixed since there can be conflicts of interest. So please delete your account here on Connect should your primary interests be your business.

Cheers

Hi @MortenCopenhagen

Greetings of the day

I fully agree with you for authorisation point of view.

Now just consider the sequence:

  1. I am, as a local guide, submit some details to create a new business

  2. Google create said business with wrong details and start reviewing process, which sometimes takes week time or even more.

  3. Doubtlessly, I am, as a creator, the first person, who knows immediately after receiving messages, about it’s incorrect details.

Now… my question is can I correct or re edit it? Or can I write back to Google to match the details?

Otherwise, for sure, this newly created business will not be approved at any point of time.

Hi @OPC1

When Local Guides create a new place we don’t really have any ownership of the place.

Did you create the place as the owner? If so, this forum can not help you.

The way forward depends on whether the new and wrong place is claimed or not. If so, only the owner can and should edit the details.

If not claimed, you can suggest the needed edits. If not approved I would 1) forget about it or 2) try the Maps Support forum.

Cheers

Morten

Hi @MortenCopenhagen

Greetings  and thanks for prompt response and making many clarifications here:

1, being a local guide, I’m in a right forum.

2, Said new place won’t be claimed and to be forgotten.

3, If as a local guide, I want to go an extra mile to support the business owner, maps support forum can be helpful.

Thanks again

Hi @OPC1 ,

I just want to let you know that I will change the topic of your post to How-tos to keep Connect organized. This is the place where you can ask questions, share tips and feedback about Connect and the Local Guides program.
