Hi everyone, I want to get more detail about traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok by train.
I am from Cambodia but I will visit Malaysia this April, 2018 and I wanna catch a train from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok and this is my first time travel these two countries also. Thank
Travelling via train is always full of fun and I love to travel via train. @PavelSarwar is a local guide from Bangladesh staying in Malaysia currently. Hope he will help you.
@Kosalma There is no direct train from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok.
What you may need to do is get a train from Kuala Lumpur Sentral to Padang Besar (border of Thailand), then pass through immigration, and get to Hatyai Thailand. From Hatyai Thailand, you can get a Thai train to Bangkok.
From Padang Besar (Malaysia), there should be some buses to get to Hatyai.
*There used to be a Malaysia train from Kuala Lumpur to Hatyai, but I remembered they stopped it some time back. So, just get to the Padang Besar Thailand border, and get a bus to Hatyai Thailand. It’s not far. From Hatyai to Bangkok by train. Hatyai & Songkhla is a big tourist destination also, you can take the opportunity to visit.
@Kosalma I love travelling by train but fasten your seatbelt, lol . First it takes 4-5 days to get there no bullet train yet. Every stop over is noisy and a lots of vendors going inside selling different types and kinds of anything.Their is also a money exchange inside. Being V.I.P. inside the train or upper deck or lower deck stiil you hear everything difference is privacy.Buses are faster first class V.I.P. seats you can stretch your body and be able to go down every stop over rather just inside train. It’s all up to you, what matter is your convenient. Goodluck to your journey to bangkok if you need any assistance let’s keep in touch. You may check Journey To Bangkok To Your Facebook It’s my Account too. Wink

My comment might not answering your question. Transportation by train not really popular in Malaysia except those commuting within city center area like Klang Valley etc. However, it will be a very good experience if you take this option. Have a save journey! Hopefully you will have a very generous hospitality during your stay in Malaysia.
