The HCMC - LocalGuides 1st Community had its first geowalk yesterday, with a botanical theme. We had planned to visit four parks in district 1 but due to the heat and the thunderstorm, we could only explore Le Van Tam park. It was much bigger than anticipated so there was much to explore. It was magnificently beautiful, with wonderful gardens leading to a gorgeous statue in the middle, filled with locals enjoying the big green open spaces for various activities. We appreciated the enthusiastic local guides who took time from their busy schedules, it was a pleasure to watch all these different people from the local community interacting. It was interesting to see people who had gone past this park for many years sometimes, enjoy this peaceful place. We then went to Vicolo1 which generously provided refreshments and a warm atmosphere to enjoy each other’s company for another couple hours. We learnt many important things from our second successful event and we will keep building on this momentum to keep growing our deeply enjoyable local guides community!
