I thoroughly enjoy exploring the world, most importantly the food of the world. There’s nothing more exciting than finding a hidden gem in a big city. You know the one I’m talking about. It could be the tiny Mexican mercado on the edge of town that also sells mouth-watering pastor tacos with handmade corn tortillas and homemade empanadas or the Greek restaurant hidden in a deserted strip mall that serves the most savory lemon chicken orzo soup your tastebuds have ever experienced. Finding new food is my all-time favorite hobby. The tool that helps me enjoy this hobby day in and day out is Google Maps. Google Maps has helped me find the best tacos in all of Barcelona, the best ramen in Munich, and the best pho in Rome. With each tasting experience, I feel that I get a taste of a new culture. I get a sense of connection with another part of the world that I otherwise wouldn’t have. All I have to do is type in the type of cuisine that I want to eat and TA-DOW I have hundreds of options staring at me in the face. The best part is the pictures which are ultimately what sells me, in addition to the rating/notes left by other users. I get to experience the restaurant/food before I even step foot in the door. If there’s an overall 4-star and above rating,99.9% of the time, the restaurant is great! This relieves the stress of receiving a poor experience. You know that moment when you think to yourself “will this be good? I don’t want to waste my money and time so I hope it’s great.” Poor experiences do happen from time to time because human beings aren’t perfect but with Google Maps being a trusted community your odds of having such an experience are lowered significantly.

@PintSizedTraveler Now you can tell Google Maps your food / diet preferences and it automatically rates restaurants by a percentage of matching your profile. It is indeed quite a powerful app
