I think my favorite thing to review on maps are hotels/hostels. I’ve been traveling for almost two years and so I have used hostel reviews on google maps a ton. I’ve really come to rely on it. I like how Google will pull in reviews from other sites so that I see everything, good or bad, that people have to say about a place. It’s saved me just in time when I was on my way to check into a place and someone had just posted a review about bed bugs (Budapest was having a out break at the time). I was super lucky that time.
I’ve also gotten really good at reading between the lines and figuring out what suites my needs. After so much time living in dorms and cheap hotels, I feel like I can spot the details in a review that will make a room worthwhile. So, in return, I tend to write really extensive hostel reviews. I hope that if there is someone else out there like me reading my reading my review, I can provide all the details about the kitchen/bed/locker/whatever that they need.
