I enjoy posting hidden gems, no matter if its a scenic view, a mom & pop ice cream shop, or a boutique. From kayaking the Eastern Chesapeake Bay to hiking the Appalachian Trail in Virginia, I love exploring off the beaten path areas of my the DC metro area. I typically avoid the most popular and trendy destinations, as they are usually pretty boring after you have been once or twice. Often I like to re-visit establishments that were popular long ago to see if they still have the “it” factor. I enjoy walking into random establishments just to see what they are selling or tasting some unfamiliar menu item. I hope that I can give map viewers other options that they may not read about in the popular “must-do” lists.
