Finding good EV charging spots in my region, #Monthlytopic of April

Probably I’m renowned as a coffee lover here. Of course, it’s my hobby but I don’t introduce it this time. If you were expecting it, I’m sorry;-)

Recently, the number of EV charging stations is increasing day by day, and a life using an EV car is also getting comfortable. However, the reality that it’s necessary to wait a very long time for charging hasn’t change yet. Therefore finding a good charging spot that is surrounded by cozy facilities or environment is a very important subject for EV car owners.

Nowadays, I’m tackling to make a useful EV charging stations list in my region. This is one of my hobbies. So today, I’ll introduce some of them to you as a post of “#monthlytopic of April, 2020 - Your hobby”.

List

This is my list, “USEFUL EV charging stations in Iwate”.

The EV charging station beside of Tono Kaze-no-oka

Tono Kaze-no-oka is one of my favorite places. You are able to stop by here and enjoy shopping souvenirs of Tono city and fresh vegetables. There are also restaurants and food stalls, so this is a good place for taking a rest during driving from the center of Iwate to the coastal side area.

Beside of the EV charging station, there is a big windmill, and the landscape is also nice. If the weather is good, watching them is also my recommendation.

EV charging stations of Moriokaminami AEON and Maegata AEON

There are some EV charging stations in parking lots of AEON shopping malls. It is obvious they are useful because we can spend time in a cafe, a restaurant, a game arcade, a bookstore, and so forth while we are waiting to finish charging. The time limit is 3 hours but it may be not enough for enjoying the shopping malls.

I have never used this EV charging station yet but I know well the hotel beside it. Airinkan is one of the best hot spring hotels in Iwate for me. They are very kind to families, accommodate our dietary restrictions, serve tasty foods, and have great hot springs. I love this hotel but the existence of the EV charging station will motivate us more than now.

By the way, do you know that we can add details to EV charging places as Local Guides? Each EV charging station has information about the connector types and the power outputs(kW). They are very useful and important information for us. If you have a chance, please try to add them to the place.

[Japanese] 電気自動車オーナーにとって便利な充電スポットを探す

日本でも電気自動車が増えてきましたが、充電にかかる時間が長いのは相変わらずです。専用の拘束充電器を使っても空っぽから満充電まで1時間ほどが必要となる現在、周辺環境が整っている充電スポットをおさえておくことはEVオーナーにとっては非常に重要な課題となります。都内であれば無料の充電器もたくさんあるので車の中で時間をつぶすことや歩いてどこかに行くのも容易だと思いますが、地方ではそうはいきません。充電中は車を離れてできるだけ効率的に充電しつつ、快適に時間を過ごせる場所があると嬉しいですね。

そんなわけで、最近は岩手県内のEV充電スポットの情報を集めることを趣味の1つとしています。今回はその中からいくつかのスポットを紹介したいと思います。

List：USEFUL EV charging stations in Iwate

１．遠野風の丘

遠野風の丘に併設された高速充電器は岩手県中央部から沿岸部へと移動するための高速道路を利用する上で非常に重要なポイントとなる充電スポットです。ここを逃すとしばらくは充電できませんので電池残量には十分注意する必要があります。また、休憩スポットもしばらくはなくなってしまいますのでEVに限らず立ち寄ることをおすすめします。

遠野風の丘自体も素晴らしい道の駅で、レストラン、おみやげコーナー、産直などが充実しています。

２．イオンモール駐車場

岩手には専門店街を持つ大型のイオンが２つもあります。そのどちらの駐車場にも充電設備が設置されていますが、これが非常に便利です。制限時間は3時間までとなっていますが、イオン内の飲食店やカフェで気持ちよく時間を過ごすことができます。また、イオン周辺の商業設備も充実していますので様々なところに歩いて移動することができます。

３．愛隣館

花巻にある温泉、愛隣館は岩手県内で私が好きな温泉の１つです。温泉の質や景観が良いだけではなく、家族連れに優しく、食事制限にも対応してくれます。実はまだこちらの充電設備を利用したことはないのですが、私にとっては行く理由が増えた形になり非常に嬉しく思っています。

Googleマップ上ではEV充電スポットに対して充電ステーション数や出力を入力するオプションもあります。こういった情報はEVオーナーにとっては非常に重要な情報になりますので、みなさんも新しいスポットを見かけたらぜひ追加、編集に協力して頂けると嬉しいです。

That is very useful information, @HiroyukiTakisawa , and good to see that in your neighborhood there is a lot of availability. This is not the case everywhere unfortunately.

I also did not know that you could add the technical information. I suppose you find this information on the charger itself?

I am a really big fan of EV’s. I would really love to explore EV’s stations wherever I find them when I travel. Unfortunately, we don’t have them in my region because most cars we have here are combustion engines with fuel, the ones with touch of electric are mostly hybrid. Thanks for the list.

Hopefully, one day I hope to visit Tokyo and other cities in Japan. The farthest I have been in Asia is Middle East, I want to travel more and explore the world, I guess that is where most of my life saving is going to. In the end, we create memories to share stories. Cheers!

EV charging station is not rampant here in Nigeria, I guess it my be only one or two in the entire country. I guess because we have petroleum and natural gas in its abundance.

It is great you’re making a good list to help people around your community locate this charging spots easily.

日本におけるEVの位置付けは世界各国と比べてお世辞にも進んでいるとは言えない状況のなか、このトピックはとても有意義なトピックだと思います。

私はジャンル問わず車が大好きなので、当然のようにEVを購入しましたが、海外に行く度に日本のEVの現況が恥ずかしく思っていました。

まだまだこれからとは思いますが、インフラ整備や各種助成金の拡充を願うばかりです。

EVは充電のためドライブを一時停止しますが、その際コーヒーを飲んだり車を拭き掃除したりして時間を有効に使うようになりました。

人生においても突っ走るのではなく、余裕をもった行動をとり、リフレッシュのために一時停止するこてが大切だと思います。

コメントありがとうございます。海外、特にアメリカのEV普及率は凄まじいものがありますね。

会社の駐車場にこれだけの充電設備が並んでいるのを見るとその差を実感します。

日産、テスラなどの現在日本国内でシェアを持っている会社だけでなく、様々な組織団体が協力して充電設備、環境を整えていってくれたらと思っています。そして、その整った環境をマップ上に反映させていくのが私たちの活動、ローカルガイドですね。今後も活動を継続していきます！
