Finding accessible places, and updating them on Google Maps and sharing with others are a little effort to build awareness for accessibility issues. Accessible work will make the Google Maps more helpful to all Google Maps users, especially for wheelchair users.
Today I would like to share about accessibility work at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park; it is located at Gazipur. I have visited this safari park last months before with my family. It is one of the largest safari park in Bangladesh, it is built on 4909 acre of land, the park was open for public on the year 2011. It is a safe habitat for various species of animals, small and big. I am impressed for their Accessibility facilities in the resort.
The safari park has different zones like Birds zone, Fish lake, Hanging Bridge, Childrenâs Zone, Aquarium, Butterfly, Core safari park zone. There are many rides in the children zone although these rides are not accessible or suitable for wheelchair users. The core safari park where big animals like Tigers and Lions are accessible by small coach, this coach is not accessible wheelchair users.
The main entrance of the safari park is fully accessible for wheelchair users from the road. The place is fully accessible from the entrance to every corner of the safari park and have well-presented accessible pathway, toilets also fully accessible for wheelchair users, the restaurant also wheelchair accessible.
The park has sufficient facilities for wheelchair userâs access and other facilities. The walkways inside the park are nicely joint with each otherâs those are perfect for wheelchair users. So wheelchair users can come and pass a great time and enjoy in the safari park.
