Find a reliable idea from Google map

When I first arrived Hamburg HBF (main railway station), as a normal tourist the first thing must be hotel check-in and drop off backpack. Sometime check in a hotel is a trouble. My hotel booking from a hotel agent shows some incorrect information, the addresses of hotel building and services counter are not the same, the hotel agent only shows the building address. When I reached it, I just saw a closed door, no hotel staff or counter. A friendly local man approached to me and gave me assistance, he was nice but English was bad. I showed the hotel name to him and he tried to ask other people to seek the right address. But still not got the right answer.

I turned on my mobile phone and ask Google map, and searched the hotel name:” Hamburg Room”, it still showed the building address, it made my annoying. Finally, I got the answer from Google map, some other tourists also complained with the same problem, and he stated the address of counter in the comment session. I finished the check in and got the room key successfully.

In here, I really appreciate the local man of Hamburg, Google map and the owner of that comment shown correct address, they bring me assistance.

Local Guides program, the most valuable thing is truthiness, every Local Guides contributor leaves true comments or photos to other users. Local Guides not only for tourist, but also for local, whatever the comments are recommendation or complaint, they are worth to have a look and consideration before really get there. Some web-page or media also have sharing and comment function, but they are untrustworthy, especially mention about the restaurants and the sightseeing spot, I guess some comments are manipulated by interest groups. I think most user would agree the score and comment session of Google map are more reliable.

Come back to my trip in Hamburg, I had no idea about this city. Sightseeing spot were not decided to go. I chose some spot from Google map, some from local’s suggestion. Happily, I finished my 3-day trip in Hamburg.
