Finally getting on a flight after over 3 years - at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport

It has been such a long time to say the least. And getting an opportunity to travel to a different place to help discover new experiences is something each Local Guide yearns for. And I got my opportunity some days ago. Finally coming to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (https://goo.gl/maps/8fZ4XkL8rjrcFFRe7 ). Where to you say? Wait for future posts.

[Photo below] - Kuala Lumpur International Airport is one of the most beautiful airports in the region, with wooden panels as the ceiling like a traditional Malaysian house, or some say it looks like sail boat.

[Photo below] - After checking in, checking through some unique shops that feature Malaysia for visitors. The Little Malaysia booth (https://goo.gl/maps/h6TvhZmTvPy9m7MNA ), is a wonderfully design place that sells souvenirs for last minute shopping for visitors. At airport prices that is.

[Photo below] - And another sister booth, the Delicacies of Malaysia (https://goo.gl/maps/ckGt7ygkG5yL6GjD9 ) which sells snacks and sweets that are made in Malaysia. Some of which features the notorious durian fruit, and also palm sugar.

[Photo below] - After some walk around throughout many shops, finally heading down to departures. A nice view of symmetries as I head down.

[Photo below] - Just saying hi and bye to a few “sweet” friends.

[Photo below] - And finally flying up in the air. A sigh of relief finally getting back into the skies. Flying on Malaysian Hospitality MH, Malaysia Airlines. The tip of the wing has the kite logo.

[Photo below] - And then eating Malaysia’s national dish, the Nasi Lemak at 30,000 ft in the air. Steamed coconut rice, with chicken rendang, sambal belacan, peanut and anchovies.

[Photo below] - And finally touching down in my destination. Notice the intricate carvings and patterns and the traditional attire. More about the destination later.

[Photo below] Sneak peak to a photo with @AdrianLunsong @MalaysiaAsia @EugeneWong and @zhixin (not in picture) as we explore new experiences in a beautiful land of the Rhinoceros Hornbill. More posts to follow.

Wow what a great description about the Kuala Lumpur airport.

i been to kaula Lumpur in 2018 and it was an amazing experience. Our flight had landed early morning and we had no choice to wait on airport as we had booked our apartment from Air Bnb.

As compare to Many airports I found kaula Lumpur less chaotic.

Thank you @StephenAbraham for sharing an amazing post of the Kuala Lumpur airport.

Happy Guiding  :+1:

Heya Stephen, that’s quite a nice travelogue about KLIA and again, it was a pleasure to have travelled with all of you! Loving the photos and KLIA looks as majestic as always, despite what many may think. I find our airport spacious and beautifully designed. Perhaps if we could have more interesting shops, it would be 11/10 haha. Again, great photos and write-up!
