This European Robin just landed and sat directly in front of me in Dunboyne, Co.Meath. Could not help but take a few snapshots. Sony dsc-hx400v

The pictures are from the late afternoon so about 90 mins before sunset.

Thanks for sharing you photos! I’m yet again stunned by your photography skills. These captures are so beautiful. They would make great prints, have you thought of that?

You have to make a post showing us how you capture these beautiful creatures. It’s really not easy and quite challenging. I’m sure it will be interesting for other Local Guides as well.

It was more luck than skills, I already had the camera set to “P” mode so that’s halfway between automatic and manual. The reason for that was I wanted to control the focus area purely in the middle of the shot and blur the background whilst leaving the rest to the camera’s auto, I was actually taking pictures of the squirrels.

So there is me standing as still as I could in the woods listing and looking for squirrels, my camara ready when this little robin just happened to land in front of me …

Wonderful shots! I find it very difficult to take pictures of animals, especially birds. How long does it take you to take the perfect photo so that you can share it here on Connect?
