chhath pooja is a significant festival of initially from Bihar but now it’s celebrate in every part of India. It falls on the sixth day of Diwali. This pooja is for Married women. They worship Surya (Sun God?) for the prosperity, happiness and long life of their husbands. women observe difficult fast for 36 hours without food and water. It is a three-days of celebration and worship. first day ladies perform pooja and fast at their home. second day they worship the sun at in the evening, at sun set time. third day pooja of rising sun is performed . usually Pooja is done on the banks of the rivers but if not possible to reach to the river bank, pooja is performed near a water body.You can see it in the pics. this festival is marked as a symbol of community spirit and women’s dedication and devotion for family and religion.
