Yesterday ‘Prana Prathishta’ of Lord Sri Ram was performed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Ayodhya, (Rama’s birth place) in U.P., India. It was celebrated in all cities in India and many countries with enthusiasm. Here in Chennai, an idol of Sri Ram was kept for public darshan at TTD Devasthanam, Venkatramana Road, Chennai.

The occassion- countrywide celebration of the installation/ consecration ceremony of Sri Ram in his birth place called Ayodhya. The idol nstalled in Ayodhya depicts the features of Sri Ram as youth with a bow and arrow in his both hands. The temple was built after 500 years of struggle. All 3 important hindu temples (called kshetras) at Varanasi (Kasi), Ayodhya (Ram’s birth place), and Mathura (Krishna’s birth place were demolished, desecrated by Mogul king Aurangazeb. He also built mosques on those temples. You can read more on this news in all leading newspapers. People celebrated this occassion in all cities and in their homes yesterday. This photo was taken in one of the temples in Chennai. All were chanting, “Jai Sri Ram”.
