One of the favorite places I love to visit is - New York City.
Well… of course… that’s obvious, who does not like to visit the big apple.
But the thing is… that when I visit - every time I have so many places on my list I have to check out, so I could taste/see/enjoy, etc.
But - the thing I love the most, is my local feeling. I have the same route I do the second day I’m in NY.
And this is my local story I want to tell you about.
It’s a 3-8 hours tour, depending on you, in Midtown New York.
It involves shopping, site seeing and of course…FOOD!
And I definitely recommend you experiencing it…
And it goes like this:
- You start at The Highline! (West Side Yard on 34th Street near the Javits Center). You can walk it through and see really nice views, go down and up the Highline if you see something interesting along the way - and of course, look into people’s apartments :))
- After enjoying the Highline experience, you go off almost at the end of it - at 16th st. So you could grab a pizza at Artichoke’s, or maybe just hang out in the Chelsea Market which is also really nice and has a lot of places to eat in.
If you have some money in your pocket and would like to enjoy a super fine meal - I would definitely recommend Del Posto. I had an amazing dinner there… one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been in.
4. After finishing that area, you go on to Hudson St. south until it connects to one of the nicest streets in NY - Bleecker St.- You can just walk on Bleecker for hours, enjoying the views, checking out the designer stores and grabbing things to eat from the super nice places on those streets, such as The famous Magnolia bakery (super nice cupcakes).
Joe’s Pizza - a very famous
pizzeria and a good one (You can just grab a slice to go, but you would probably want another one ?
Not far from there, you could find a really special American ice cream place, named: Big Gay Ice Cream Shop. Worth the detour…-
After finishing blasting your stumic… continue on Bleecker St. until the 6th Ave, and then continue on the 6th until you reach Prince St. and actually the famous SOHO district. (That hanging in SOHO can be a post of its self)
-
But… While traveling in the SOHO, buying a lot of stuff from really nice stores, remember that at the end of Price St. (After crossing Broadway Ave. with so many brand stores on it) you would find Cafe Habana with its famous corn, for the dessert of this day ?
I wish you to make this course every time you visit NY - and every time to discover new places, and still feel local while visiting the amazing places I’ve mentioned.
There was a time where I found the best sea-salted chocolate cookie I have ever had… I took a picture of my self enjoying it - but didn’t write the name of the place… to this day - every time I do the tour… I’m still looking for it… ?
I hope this post was useful to you!
Peace & Love
