February is the month of love, cliché statement? I know. I have been inspired to share the place I’m loving in Nairobi currently.
Recently, I have found myself stumbling upon art galleries in my line of work in different parts of the city but one gallery, in particular, stood out for me and Google maps made me discover it by prompting me to review it.
The One Off Contemporary Art Gallery, blew me away when I visited it yesterday. It is one of Kenya’s top art galleries that only showcases art pieces from exclusive top artists in the country and the wider East Africa. They also don’t charge entry fees.
It is located in the northern part of Nairobi known as Rosslyn Lone Tree area, a peaceful location tucked away in a heavily forested neighborhood. I’d definitely recommend the place if you are looking for inspiration by extremely talented artists or are just looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nairobi.
Some of the pictures I took from my visit are below. More info can be accessed from their website http://ONEoffafrica.com
Thank you for sharing, @InnocensiaO . The One Off Contemporary Art Gallery looks really special. It looks so cosy as if it is made to make you feel like the visitor lives among the artists. Did you take any more pictures there?
@Petra_M They have represented many artists for over twenty years who are considered the finest from East Africa. Some of them include:Richard Kimathi, Peter Ngugi, Anthony Okello, Lisa Milroy.
They display different artworks from paintings, sculptures, craft items such as purses.
@IrrPavlova Taking pictures came with a caveat since most of the works are protected by Copyright law but was guided on how on which sections to photograph.
Would have loved to upload more photos but this platform has limitations for the size of photos but I have shared more on google maps.
