It appears that many of the Maps app features available on the Android platform are now accessible on the desktop also.
That is a delightful feature!
However, one needs to do that through a different route.
We can flag an inappropriate photo through the Web version of Maps also.
I picked up the photo as above, as that doesn’t appear to be related to Taj.
Then, that presented me with the following menu.
That’s absurd. Every time, I need to prove that I am not a robot!
Now I discovered a more simplistic way to do that on a desktop.
But, that needs typing the location name in the search box of a browser and definitely not in Maps!
Along with the results, a window will appear on the right, providing information on the POI.
Next, open the photos in a new tab.
Wow, at this place you should notice the flag.
However, be careful. The flag is not persistent.
I’ve had this on my desktop for at least 2 years @C_T . Google Maps doesn’t make it easy to report problems. The more problems you report, they ask questions and it increases. That is annoying.
However, if nobody moves in to report the spam, one day, the information will become complete untrustworthy.
Nevertheless, the usual approach on the desktop is cumbersome.
Further, In my opinion, the means of reporting photos through the browser version of Maps shouldn’t be there in the first place as that is likely to be misused for appropriating copyrighted material.
