Hello, Connect users should have the ability to suggest Maps features on How-tos, or Local Guides should have priority for the Feedback area on Google Maps. I have sent lots of feature requests on Feedback, yet zero response or additions. Having Maps employees view the How-tos section similar to how they viewed the Idea Exchange before it was removed would be nice, and employees should respond to the feedback.
Right now, I have some feedback about Street View Studio:
Add the ability to upload GoPro’s .360 file format without first converting it to .mp4, as I heard the GPS data extractor option only works on macOS, and there is no way any ChromeOS users can acess a tool to convert .360 to .mp4 .
Add the ability to upload 2D (non-360) dash/backup/side camera footage with a GPX file, in the form of an mp4 file, to upload as a Photopath, and when uploading camera footage, it will prompt on which direction the footage is (dashcam, backup camera, or side cameras?) then publish to Maps. I cannot afford a 360 video camera and I would be able to contribute to Maps if this one is added, as I can upload footage of unmapped roads and trails to Street View, and also consider adding the ability to upload Photopaths to the Street View Publish API, as issuetracker.google.com does not have an area to publish feedback for the SV Publish API.
For Maps, I suggest a feature to download all indoor maps and all floors of the indoor map when the Offline Maps feature is used, and to download the amenity list (the section of Maps with the checkmarks, not just amenities) and possibly the website URLs of places, but I don’t know if it will be useful or not, maybe yes if you want to save mobile data. Also, there should be an optional download of Google Maps buildings and parking roads on offline maps as well. Currently parking roads are only viewed on cache and buildings are left corrupted offline and viewed on cache data. The directory on google maps places that include other places does not work as well despite the places being part of Offline Maps already
