Hy Local Guides Community,
I would like to request a feature introducing an optional field within our Local Guides Connect profile settings to allow local guides to display their preferred pronouns (such as she/her/hers, he/him/his, they/them/theirs or custom combinations).
Local Guides Connect brings together an inspiring, diverse global community from every corner of the world. As we interact daily - writing recap articles, organizing community meetups, celebrating milestones & collaborating in discussion, we frequently reference one another in conversation.
Adding this feature will help other Local Guides to address a Local Guide correctly and respectfully, eliminating awkward guesswork & preventing unintended misgendering. Across diverse international cultures, languages & naming conventions, a local guide’s name or profile picture does not always indicate their gender identity.

Optional Field in Settings
: An opt-in field in profile preferences with common presets (she/her, he/him, they/them), an option for custom combinations, and a default “Prefer not to say/Blank” setting. -
Placement Across Connect
: A subtle, clean display right next to or below the local guide’s username on user profiles, as well as beside the local guide’s username in a post/replies.
This feature aligns naturally with the community’s broader commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility & inclusion, helping foster an even warmer, more welcoming environment for everyone.
