Hi @DoanNT ,

Those are some great shots! : ]

It is also fascinating, as the climate would be much different than the normal one in the plain, would there be any period with snow?

I have also heard many stories from my cousins regarding the place, as unfortunately I have never got the chance to go up there.

Hi @sonnyNg

In Sapa, northwest Vietnam has a cooler and colder climate in Dalat in the south, at Fansipan peak, it is said that there is snow in the winter, this is the coldest place in Vietnam. Right at Sapa, lower than Fansipan but like every year, there are places where there are still snow and icy but not very much.

Thanks for confirming, @DoanNT ! : ]

When packing to go there, a windbreaker or even a jacket is required then.

Hi @sonnyNg

Depending on the season, when I came here on April, 2019, I was only wearing a long-sleeved shirt and only felt a little cold. The wind is very strong up here (sorry, girls or women don’t should wear short skirts…). For backup, except in winter (November or December), it’s better you should wear a windbreaker for the rest of the month.

Hi @DoanNT ,

That sounds quite serious, but all worth the obstacles to conquer the peak, don’t you think! : ]

From which point have you taken the footage for the GIF? Quite fascinating it is.

Hi @sonnyNg

On the way down from the highest peak 3,143m. Although going down but also quite tired, the steps are very steep, must go about 30 steps to have a place to stop … The position of shooting this foggy video at an altitude of about 3,100m.
Although saying that, there is no big obstacle, I am 65 years old, but I also see that there is an 77-year-olds follow their descendants to go to Fansipan peak once to know…
