Family guide

This is not more about why am a local guide but more of how local guides made life easier for my family. I have lived 12 years in Nairobi but the first 8 years were really tough financially. So I spent most time indoors -It is cheaper there. But given my long stay in the city my family in the village certainly trusts me a lot with directions when in the city. It could be my ageing mother coming for eye checkups, or visiting a physician to check on her replaced knee, or my father coming to the city to justify his government job to the ministry, they all call me to ensure they get where they are going.

With my many years out of the village, in the city, I can not justify not knowing the places they want to visit. And there, my fellow local guides, right there is where we make the difference. I am able to make my parents proud of taking me to school in the city with the little they had.

This may appear to be a minor achievement, but these small possibilities make me more proud to keep contributing to the platform.
