Family and genealogical association

I am a volunteer for my family and genealogical association named: Association des Familles Déry d’Amérique (AFDA, Association of Déry Families of America). With our genealogy software, we use Google Maps to indicate where our families were when they arrived in America more than 350 years ago (1669), and where they have been since.

We also use Google Maps to track places named (toponymy) according to our family name.

Do you have the same kind of maps for your family association?

Bruno,

Great use of Google Maps! I have not yet used them in association with my own genealogical research other than finding places. However, I’ve been recently using the overlay process sites like David Rumsey has been posting. It’s been a unique way to find sites on old maps on current Google maps.
