Yes, you’re absolutely right Morten - I hadn’t even mentioned that.
Even some LocalScouts post fake reviews, some of which are certainly AI-generated, with details of dishes such as “Asian gyros lasagne”, “Great white shark in aspic” or they report on the journey by “car train”.
Heligoland is a very small and car-free island. I was there myself last year and noticed this entry straight away.
I find it quite frustrating that it is easier to adopt a fake entry as the owner than to have the fake removed. For a year now I have tried all the options for reporting (closed, not available, private, etc.), but so far nothing has helped.
Google should be able to recognise from location data, many photos and reports etc. that there is no restaurant in the rather industrial/commercial harbour area, especially as the entry is placed in the middle of a narrow, crumbled groyne.
thank you once again for your quick and effective help in this case. It’s good that the site was removed so quickly.
Unfortunately, I have since noticed that my account appears to have restrictions and photos and videos that fully comply with the guidelines are not being posted, e.g. photos of the new bar in a cinema or videos of a place of interest.
I had also posted a review (with reference to the fake) and a photo of the deleted location. Could it be that Google now considers me a fake contributor after the removal and restricts my other posts?
I think I already shared it 300 times. Haha. For you my friend @Hanzon :
Please use the form called Account Investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps if you believe that some of your contributions have been wrongfully unpublished. Keep in mind, it takes several weeks for the check to be done, and you will not be notified about the result, so I suggest you check the status of your reviews once a week or so.
