Dear mappers and all esteemed local guides,
Exactly a month ago we launched our 3Thousand-roads-add-campaign-2023-TRAC initiative. We estimated 6 months to add 3,000 roads to Google maps. Why did we fix 6 months to reach our target? Well,I wasn’t Just sure how or what support I’ll get from the general local guides. I had over 2,000 roads added to Google maps,myself but I just wanted a community effort as a community builder. There is so much we can achieve together as a community. I knew the approval rate could give so much challenges . Nevertheless we went ahead and launched the initiative. We invited everyone to kindly join us by filling out the form. We have also organised a telegram group for communication. As at now we have about 35 local guides from 8 countries all over the globe participating on this initiative. We also have 5 connect moderators participating which is a big boost to reaching our target quicker than estimated.
Surprisingly to me,because of all those who are participating very actively we reached more than half The target in 3 weeks which 1,825 roads. At that stage I knew we are in for a high jump of reaching out target sooner than estimated and we may face increasing it if we will keep busy for the rest of the six months estimated !!! Now we made it to add 3,000 roads to Google maps in just one month,congratulations to us all on this TRAC event and to all local guides and to all Google maps users in general.

Since we started this campaign,we have been able to learn more about adding roads to Google maps. Note that this is very different from Road mappers. As a way of helping and inspiring other local guides to participate I wrote A post Draw-Roads-on-desktop-step-by-step-Photos Interested local guides kindly look up the post. It’s all to help get more and more local guides to be aware and start up on drawing roads. We have had good success stories of those who rose from zero roads to hundreds of roads in just a month. I’ll try to tag them here.
There are others too because of tagging constraints we will tag them later on. Special thanks to the Co-host for his strong and good support on this initiative. Special thanks to fellow moderators and local gudies in general in. We are creating an awareness for drawing roads which lots of local guides don’t do usually. We are increasing our target to 10,000 roads now. Please kindly join the trail !!!

And if I have any luck that whoever is in charge of checking road edits in Greece will wake up any time soon, I might soon be adding a couple dozen as contribution to the 10K goal (since I still have quite a few Pendings in that area).
