There are no historical documents describing the construction of the tower, so the exact date of its construction is unknown. The official version says that the tower was built in the second half of the XVII - early XVIII centuries. The tower looks similar to the Borovitskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin.
The Syuyumbike Tower is one of the “leaning towers” and has a noticeable inclination to the southeast side. The inclination from the axis is almost 2 meters. The total height of the tower is 58 meters.
The name of the tower is based on some romantic legends that have no real confirmation. The name is associated with the Syuyumbeke - the wife of the last two Kazan khans and great-great-great-granddaughter of Edigey, the founder of the Nogai Horde.
That’s a beautiful city. Thanks for sharing your photos and showing its amazing views. I really liked the gates of the Suyumbeke Tower. I am not a huge believer in star signs but the images depicted on the gate are very delicate and original. Which is the best spot to see the city from above?
You should pay 100 rubles (1,5 €) to access the Bell Tower. This money goes to the church fund to buy 2 more bells. The observation deck is located directly at the level of the bells.
From the observation deck, you can observe the bay, the new areas of the city, as well as the nearest beautiful buildings, about which I have a plan to write separately.
It really shows a stunning view! Thank you for sharing your photos, the bell tower is unique. Whenever I travel, I try to climb to a higher point where I can enjoy the whole city.
