Exploring Banaue Rice Terraces

Banaue has more to offer aside from its rice terraces. Try their local wine called bayâ made of fermented rice. It is sweet and has mild alcohol content. Ths wine is used during rituals of the Ifugaos.

Challenge yourself by chomping the betel nuts and lime mix for at least a minute. These are available even in small stores and is sold like candies.Be sure that you are somewhere where you could freely spit out the betel nut. Further up north in Bontoc and Sagada, they sell smoked pork called Etag. Thinly slice and lightly fry. Good for toppings on vegetable salad or as bar chow.
