Explore Vincent van Gogh’s France

Vincent Van Gogh is one of the most famous figures in Western art with his otherworldly depictions of still lifes and places around France. In honor of his birthday, March 30, 1853, we followed Van Gogh around France on Google Earth Voyager, finding the real-life spots that are immortalized in his paintings.

Can you tell which paintings were inspired by these spots?

Find out which paintings these places inspired, what Local Guides have to say about them, and more on Google Earth Voyager.

Great story! Thanks for sharing… as an art teacher I know how people love to see places ‘through the eyes’ of artists - enables personal connections to both the place and the art!
