Explore the wonderful but unknown monuments with a local guide

I have always been an amateur archaeologist, and I like to explore various archaeological sites in real life.

In China, some archaeological sites are located in the very center of cities, while most of them are located in very remote suburbs and villages, There is almost no public transportation in these places. Even most of the time, you can only find their traces in archaeological textbooks.

Following the footsteps of Google map, I set foot in many archaeological sites in China. Some of them are very famous world heritage sites, such as the Terracotta warriors in Xi 'an, Shaanxi province,

or the Yin Ruins in Anyang, Henan Province, while others are hidden in remote areas, fields or beside mountain roads, which are also one of the destinations I explore.

I once visited Erlitou site in Yanshi City, Luoyang, Henan Province. And posted many photos of the site. At that time, Erlitou site was still a small workstation between the village and the field,I was the first person to comment on and upload photos of Erlitou on Google maps, and now those photos have over 80,000 views. On October 19, 2019, Erlitou museum was finally built and opened. Google maps and I witnessed the evolution of an archaeological site from an archaeological workstation to a large museum.

Exploring new cultural and historical sites, adding comments and photos to the Google map, can be very valuable. When I was searching for remote cultural sites and sites, I got a lot of useful information from other people’s contributions, which made it easier and more effective for us to explore the new world.

As a person who loves to travel and explore new things, I would like to take the opportunity of being a local guide to share more photos, comments and valuable information to more people through Google maps, to help more people who love to explore.

So, What’s the most interesting thing you’ve done as a Local Guide?

I would say, share valuable photos and comments to make it easier for people to see valuable sites hidden in remote areas.

Hello @BrianXue You might have wondered what happened to the first post you wrote, as that all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, it was accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here). I have now released it and merged it with your other post, to avoid that your Connect account would get flagged as spammer.

The result is that the content of your first post is now added as a comment to your second post. If you want, you can remove the content of that comment by clicking the ‘…’ at the bottom of the comment and then simply removing the content there (or replace it with something like “content removed as it was an accidental duplicate”).

Hello @JanVanHaver , Thank you for your help ,i have removed the duplicate one.
