Hey! My name is Stan and I’m an Uzbekistan-born Russian-speaking Korean currently living and working here in Helsinki, Finland. 
I love sharing the most two things on Google Maps: 360 photos and honest reviews of places I visited.
Since 2008 Google Maps remains as my the best/must have companion when I first started travelling/studying/working around the World. I took everything for granted: precise directions, Street View photos, hotel reviews before booking a room and photos of food in the restaurant I was thinking to visit.
In May 2018 when I moved to Helsinki, Finland to work as a data scientist, I confessed to myself — “It is time to give back”. I’ve noticed that a lot of places that I needed to visit here were missing photos, and after I had a chance to visit them I took a 360 degree photo with a smartphone and shared it. Photo views count took off and I realized I can actually make an impactful contribution to the community. I was always interested in photography as a hobby, and especially 360 degree photos and videos, and therefore contributing to Google Maps and Google Street View is a happy marriage of everything I love to do and something I want to learn and be good at. I even bought a special camera to take better photos.
It is truly incredible how any person with a Google Map app can create something (a review, a photo, a place edit) that in future can potentially impact thousands of people who might be searching for this specific local place. For a data driven person like me, this is a huge inspiration.
