Experience the blue mountains

One of my favourite things to do when I have overseas visitors is to show off the blue mountains.

I’ve put together a couple of my favourite spots in hopes of inspiring others to visit.

  1. The Three Sisters, Echo Point, Katoomba

I’ve heard several aboriginal dream time stories over the years about this rock formation. The one thing they have in common is that the three rocks are in fact three beautiful sisters tragically turned to stone.

It’s a stunning view, which gives a panoramic view of the mountains. Be sure to stop in town for lunch, and if you’re lucky the locals may tell you their own legends of the Rocks.

Flat Rock, Wentworth falls

Recently renamed Lincoln Rock but still stubbornly called flat rock by the locals. It was renamed to Lincoln rock, after an Aussie mountaineer local to the area whos claim to fame was being left for dead whilst attempting to climb Mt Everest. Fortunately, a group of selfless and kind hearted mountaineers found him and sacrificing there own pursuit of reaching the peak, brought him safely to the ground.

Flat rock is another stunning look out point which you will definitely want to bring your camera to capture the moment

Wentworth Falls track, Wentworth Falls

This is my favourite hiking track. It is quiet steep and honestly the stairs are a killer. That said the falls are breath takingly beautiful and there are even a couple of spots where you can go swimming.

Hi @Sez23 thanks for contributing this post. I found it in the spam quarantine and have released it. The spam engine can be triggered by phrasing but it can also be triggered by editing multiple times in a short space of time.

I love the Blue Mountains but haven’t been for a while. Great to meet another Aussie Local Guide. Straya!

@Sez23 A pleasant trip for sure. Maybe there are other photos that can be shared here, so that we can get a better picture of the place?
