Exotic Sundarban - The land of Tiger: My travel experiences of world largest delta & mangrove forest

Sundarban national park is a large costal mangrove forest, shared by both India and Bangladesh. This is world’s largest mangrove forest and world’s largest delta. Sundarban is the single largest home of Royal Bengal tiger. Sundarban is also a home of so many endangered species like estuarine crocodile and ganges river dolphin. Sundarban is also Unesco world heritage site. Sundarban is totally polution free area and no plastic zone.
I started my journey to Sundarban from Sonakhali and I travelled Sundarban by M.V. Sarbojoya, a boat by “West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation”.
My first stop was Kalash camp. Kalash camp is very well protected are inside the forest where you can watch wild life animals from. Inside the Kalash camp I found a Bonbibi temple. Bonbibi or bondurga is a lady of jungle who is venerated by both hindu and muslim. Local people of Sundarban believe that bonbibi operates tiger.
My second stop was Bonny camp. This is very popular among the tourist because like all other camp, Bonny camp also has a watch tower which is 50ft. high and the camp has a sweet water pond where wild animals come to drink water all the day, so it is very easy to spot the wild animals include tiger, so the camp is very popular among the tourist as well as wild life photographer like me. I spotted few deers and wild pigs from the watch tower.

I also made a video for you all of my friends…

Hello @TravelerProdipta ,

Great shots! Thank you for sharing your travel experience with us. :slightly_smiling_face:

What was your favourite part of the trip?

Also, I am curious, how did you manage to capture the photo of the tiger? I would be terrified! Do you have any tips for other Local Guides who are into wildlife photography?

Thanks @Ekattotii for your interest, I would really love to answer your queries. First of all I love travel and the favourite part of this trip were when our Mechanized boat
Cruising through the mangrove forest and we spent all night inside the cruise and the cruise was at inside the Sundarban ( Mangrove forest). There was no mobile network and the area was completely internet detox.

Then you wanted to know how I managed to capture the photo of the tiger, it was very difficult because though Sundarban was the largest home of royal bengal tiger but only 200 tigers were still alive there. You could capture when the tigers came to drink water in river from mangrove forest. That time anyone could capture from the boat with tele- lense. You should use tele-lense at least 300 mm and more. The best time to spot tiger is in the morning. Always use binoculars to spot wild animals including tiger. Also I would like to inform you that watch towers are the common place to spot tiger.
