I use to visit many places and take their contact numbers to help the people. But I don’t know why I can’t replace the number which is on google map. So I feel google map should think about it and verify the numbers from authentic sources.

Can you share some place on Google map where you cannot edit phone numbers?
I am a little bit curious. I can edit phone contacts every time without problem.

Hi @dghosh , we have the possibility to edit a POI’s telephone number without problem. I think you are facing another issue

So from what I can understand from these messages, the problem is not that @dghosh cannot “edit” the phone numbers. It is because the edits are getting the status “Not applied”. So I think 2 different things are mixed up.
Sometimes it is not possible for Google to confirm your changes, this is a semi automatic process. The best way to have your edits approved is to get some kind of edit recognition for a category. There is a lot of this explained in the podcasts of @JanVanHaver . It is perfectly possible to change these phone numbers, but for some locations it is notoriously harder than for others. There is probably a reason for this.
The best way to actually change that number is through Google My Business and make the business itself change it.
