This exhibition is for art lovers and for Ponniyin Selvan book fans. Written by Sri Kalki Krishnamurthy, characters are sketched by Sri Maniam Selvan. A full one hour tour with explanations is done, organised and conducted by Sri Manian Selvan granddaughter.

Our tour started at 4.15pm and completed at 5.15pm. I got to see the sketch of King Raja Raja Chozhan, Nandini, Sri Paranthaka chozhan and many more characters of the book. How he sketched visiting places, the brushes used for stroking and display of water colors is beautifully explained.

Besides there are sketches of many Gods and Goddesses. Drawings of characters published in Kalki magazine is displayed too.

This exhibition is open from 11am to 7pm till January 3rd. An exhibit not to miss. Since no photography is allowed inside the exhibition hall, I have shared pics I clicked outside the exhibition hall. There is enough car parking space. This academy is located at the end of Greams road and beginning of Nungambakkam.

Nice of you to have shared your experiences at the exhibition. Maniam was a great artist whose drawings were used in epic novels written by novelist ‘Kalki Krishnamurthy’, in a weekly Tamil magazine Kalki (same name) published in Madras/ Chennai, Tamilnadu, India during 50s and 60s. Drawings were as powerful as the narration of the writings.

Best wishes
