My name is Olga and I am a mother of 4 children. Of course, children are our continuation, our love and pride. But sometimes being a mom in 24/7 mode is extremely debilitating, especially if it lasts more than one year. And then in order not to lose yourself, interest in your own life is worth something to get carried away. For me, Google Local Guides project became a similar hobby.
Now, a walk with children or a trip to the store ends with the placement of reviews and photos on Google Maps. This story began about two years ago, when I changed the phone, and notifications began to come to me asking me to leave feedback about the places I visited. I myself did not notice how I began to leave comments more and more often. Then I discovered that there is a whole community of Google Local Guides.
There complete strangers from all over the world communicate with each other, become friends, share impressions about places that can be visited, about food, about different cultures. And this is great! Community members help each other learn new places, restaurants, cafes, hotels, parks, etc. You can always ask a question and get an answer to an exciting question. Or read reviews beforehand, see photos.
So why am I a local guide? First, it is incredibly interesting and exciting. Because you are already thinking about the route, photo. I even began to learn English. This kind of challenge is getting better than yesterday. This is a constant movement. Secondly, I feel that I can help people learn something new about my homeland. It is only once to visit Yakutia, and you will be fascinated by this land. Thirdly, I am proud that I am now part of the story and contribute to the addition of new places and reviews to Google Maps.
I am sure that my children after many years would be able to travel around the world and use Google Maps.
And I am proud of it very much.
Thank you for such a great opportunity!
