I became a local guide 7 months ago. For the achievements I’ve received considering my full-time job as caretaker for my mom & being a single mom. The biggest reason (in my opinion) for me to feel so proud of something that seems so small compared to most everyone else I’ve seen on here is…Actually, I hate telling people this because the stigma related to this state (and for good reason) but that’s not me. You see, I am from a small town in Alabama. I’ve lived in San Diego and I know this state has been known to show ignorance and show plenty of it- but, that’s not me! Since I am from such a small town i feel as if it somewhat puts me at a disadvantage when it comes to edits, reviews, places added, etc. which normally wouldn’t matter but as I looked over all the worldy people that I’d be up against to be one of the 200 picked for the local guides 2020 connect I really don’t feel like I can bring as much to the table as most. I will say this: I’ve done 64 reviews, 143 edits, 309 pics, added 4 places, verified 167 edits & answered 3,108 questions. I hope taking into account the small amount of time and the area I live in, that I am doing good? I feel as long as I am helping others with what I’ve done so far then that’s good enough for me. I’m very proud to be a part of this community. Thank You.

@Kristy1 your post was accidentally marked as spam - that sometimes happens with the somewhat harsh spamfilters on the platform - but I have now released it from the spam folder. Perhaps one of the things that triggered it was the fact that your text is just 1 block, not divided into paragraphs, which makes it appear like some random text copied from some other source (the making as spam is done by algorithms, not people, so it uses certain rules to determine ‘spam or no spam’).
Anyway: level 7 is quite an achievement already, do congrats for that. There will always be other local guides with a higher number of contributions, but please keep in mind that it is not the quantity, but the quality that counts.
Glad to have you in the community!
