Eurotrip 2024: My first 30 day solo trip

Hi everyone!

Back in January, I asked you for suggestions for my first solo trip and here are some of my favourite places + comments.

It took me a few months to write this post so I hope you enjoy it

Spain

I went to Barcelona first because I wanted to visit my sister whom I didnā€™t see for the last 2 years.

I LOVED this city. Is very touristic and there are so many things you can do that even if you stay for 2 weeks like I did, you wonā€™t be able to explore everything.

From the Montjuic, Park GĆ¼ell, to the Basilica Sagrada Familia, I felt like I was a local there

Me at the Sagrada Familia

Italy

I only visited Rome for 2 days and IMMEDIATELY fell in love.
I fell in love with the culture, but especially with all the historical places I went to and of course, the food. It might have been the best pizza and pasta Iā€™ve ever had

I got up at 5am to visit the Trevi Fountain and it was amazing, it was worth it!

Fontana Di Trevi

Coliseum

Austria

I stayed in Vienna and I canā€™t explain how much I LOVED this city.
I felt like there were almost no tourists, so I was able to explore and take hundreds of photos.
I practiced my rusty german only to discover at the end of that interaction that they also spoke English, but it was fun :joy:

Parlament

Domkirche St. Stephan

Germany (Deutschland)

Munich was the first city I visited in this country.
I came from Vienna where there were very few people, arriving in Munich made me feel like I was in my city (Montevideo). Full of people, lots of noise and activities to do.
I went exploring and got away from the city center to discover wonderful parks and places. I had sunny days, which I know is rare in Germany. So I really enjoyed my stay.

Olympiapark

Marienplatz

Berlin was the second city that I went to in Germany.
The difference between the north and the south is noticeable in the sense of climate. It was cloudy the 3 days I was there and although I was able to explore and visit friends I have in that city, there is so much history that it was very difficult for me not to feel sad. But I was able to discover the city like a local :sunglasses:

Netherlands

I went to see Amsterdam for everything you see in the movies and I left amazed at how beautiful it is. I learned that there are more bikes than people and it is a very different city at night.

England

The moment I set foot in London, I felt like it was my second home. The same thing happened to me in Barcelona. I fell in love with everything I saw in this city. I did the entire tour that I had planned for 3 days in one day. I walked for 12 hours and I donā€™t regret it :joy:

I also went to Warner Studios to see where the Harry Potter movies were filmed and it was a dream since I am a big fan.
One of the days I was there was St. Patrickā€™s Day. I went to a very fun festival. And obviously I had a few days where the sun came out and 10 minutes later it rained. Typical of London

This has been all. I hope you liked it and you can see more photos of my trip on my Instagram.

At the moment I only have one trip confirmed for next year, which is to go to Buenos Aires, Argentina to Lollapalooza. But I also have the idea of ā€‹ā€‹taking a trip with friends to Korea and Japan at the end of 2025 or beginning of 2026.

Thanks for reading :small_airplane:

Wow!

That is nice coverage of major places in Europe @TeffiG

I suggest including the Google Maps link of the places mentioned in the post to help fellow local guides trace your path.

The overhyped Fontana Di Trevi looks less crowded, how did you manage to take a clear photo?

Also, did you encounter any protests where locals were opposing over-tourism?

Wow, what an incredible journey @TeffiG ! I love how you captured the essence of each city you visited from the vibrant streets of Barcelona to the historical charm of Rome. I visited Berlin back in 2018 and it was such a memorable experience for me. Iā€™m also planning to explore Europe solo in the near future.

Nicely conceived and presented post, LG @TeffiG

Google Maps links will be very helpfulā€¦

Also for your kind information, your photos appear very smallā€¦ could you consider publishing in full screen mode? If you need any further assistance kindly Tag me.

PS

If you donā€™t TAG, the other LG wonā€™t get any ā€œNotificationā€ that you have responded to.

How to TAG: Simply by typing the symbol @ before the User Name of an LG (as I have done above, to you), you can send a notification (TAG) to the other member. Ex: if you need to TAG me, then type @ followed by TravellerG - then I will get a notification - for more details, click 'Hereā€™.
