Hi everyone!
Back in January, I asked you for suggestions for my first solo trip and here are some of my favourite places + comments.
It took me a few months to write this post so I hope you enjoy it
Spain
I went to Barcelona first because I wanted to visit my sister whom I didnāt see for the last 2 years.
I LOVED this city. Is very touristic and there are so many things you can do that even if you stay for 2 weeks like I did, you wonāt be able to explore everything.
From the Montjuic, Park GĆ¼ell, to the Basilica Sagrada Familia, I felt like I was a local there
Italy
I only visited Rome for 2 days and IMMEDIATELY fell in love.
I fell in love with the culture, but especially with all the historical places I went to and of course, the food. It might have been the best pizza and pasta Iāve ever had
I got up at 5am to visit the Trevi Fountain and it was amazing, it was worth it!
Austria
I stayed in Vienna and I canāt explain how much I LOVED this city.
I felt like there were almost no tourists, so I was able to explore and take hundreds of photos.
I practiced my rusty german only to discover at the end of that interaction that they also spoke English, but it was fun
Germany (Deutschland)
Munich was the first city I visited in this country.
I came from Vienna where there were very few people, arriving in Munich made me feel like I was in my city (Montevideo). Full of people, lots of noise and activities to do.
I went exploring and got away from the city center to discover wonderful parks and places. I had sunny days, which I know is rare in Germany. So I really enjoyed my stay.
Berlin was the second city that I went to in Germany.
The difference between the north and the south is noticeable in the sense of climate. It was cloudy the 3 days I was there and although I was able to explore and visit friends I have in that city, there is so much history that it was very difficult for me not to feel sad. But I was able to discover the city like a local
Netherlands
I went to see Amsterdam for everything you see in the movies and I left amazed at how beautiful it is. I learned that there are more bikes than people and it is a very different city at night.
England
The moment I set foot in London, I felt like it was my second home. The same thing happened to me in Barcelona. I fell in love with everything I saw in this city. I did the entire tour that I had planned for 3 days in one day. I walked for 12 hours and I donāt regret it
I also went to Warner Studios to see where the Harry Potter movies were filmed and it was a dream since I am a big fan.
One of the days I was there was St. Patrickās Day. I went to a very fun festival. And obviously I had a few days where the sun came out and 10 minutes later it rained. Typical of London
This has been all. I hope you liked it and you can see more photos of my trip on my Instagram.
At the moment I only have one trip confirmed for next year, which is to go to Buenos Aires, Argentina to Lollapalooza. But I also have the idea of āātaking a trip with friends to Korea and Japan at the end of 2025 or beginning of 2026.
