Espresso hunting in Ireland's second city - finding perfect coffee amongst tea drinkers

One of the most interesting and fun things I did recently as a local guide was a coffee hunt! After moving to Ireland from Australia, and badly missing the amazing coffee you get down under, I decided to embark on a mission to find the best espresso available in Cork. I sampled a lot of small local cafes, and popped the best of them into a list so that other coffee-lovers would have somewhere to start when they landed in the city.

Cork is Ireland’s second-biggest city and no stranger to good food and drink. Visiting here is a culinary delight in general but it is definitely a city of tea-drinkers (local brand Barry’s, of course). Coming from the coffee-obsessed suburbs of Sydney, I knew finding cafes that knew how to treat the glorious beans with a little love and not scald the milk would be a fun challenge and I am very happy with the places I found.

Check it out at https://goo.gl/maps/nxqxX1HCGM7Nodku9 - I have a few rural cafes on there too, and I am looking forward to adding some other Irish cities too, once travel opens up again! For the moment, I have my reviews and my photos - and my home coffee-maker, who wonders why I go out some much when it is here - to keep me buzzing.
