When I check a place on maps for which I have already written a review, my review is not shown to me. My own reviews used to be the very first reviews, now I can’t see them at all.
This is the case for all places and other people can see my reviews, so it’s not possible that the review has been deleted, I’ve been blocked etc..
Also, for places I’ve haven’t yet reviewed, when I click on “reviews”, the “rate and review” section with the 5 empty stars is gone (see screenshot). So in order to write new reviews I need to go through the “contribute” option in maps.
I’ve used the “shake phone to ask for help” function in maps and asked google for help, no answer. I’ve asked the maps help community and they’ve sent me here… please help.

You have posted 100 reviews, but only 95 are currently public. There is a spam filter working hard to remove all the fake contributions, and sometimes perfectly good reviews are taken down also.
When you don’t see the row of stars, this can indicate that your review of this place was removed.
I noticed a few issues that might be unrelated to the problem, but worth fixing.
Please ensure that your photos are oriented correctly. I see many menu photos that are rotated 90 degrees.
The recommended length of a review is one paragraph. Yours are typically a lot longer.

Your review is shown first if public - but other users see the reviews listed in an order that are relevant to them (own first - not yours first).

Note that if it’s at the second you posted your reviews you can view them at the top but if it takes a while your reviews are far away from those listed or shown..and sometimes those reviews are listed by reactions taword them or by time…its once my issue too I thought my reviews was removed until I understood that by searching mine ..I thanks he / she could check that too after checked well those links provide by Mr @Mortencopenhagenthanks…

This is not the problem.
Others CAN see my reviews. When I use the incognito mode, I CAN see the reviews (see screenshot).
So, no, the reviews (at least the ones I tested) haven’t been removed due to broken rules, spam filters etc.. I simply can’t see them with my profile.
Regarding the missing “rate and review” section with the empty 5 stars: I CAN’T see this, regardless of whether or not I’ve reviewed the plave already or not..
Any other ideas?

This is unusual. Reverse hidden reviews.
Please make sure you are logged in. And logged in to the correct account. People that are not logged in can not post reviews.

Changing the language and clearing the cache didn’t change anything, but re-installing* the app did the trick! On first glance everything looks like before the problem started…

*I couldnt uninstall the app, I disabled it, uninstalled the updates then back again (enable, update).
