Despite the topsy-turvy of relocating to Colorado to start a new job, 2018 turned out to be another feather in my cap and I wear quite a few of those. In addition to being a professional engineer by training and in practice, I double as a freelance photographer, traveler and all-round leaner. My new role with my current company allowed exploit my love for travel, interacting with new cultures and taking great shots.
My business travel to Germany typically takes me to a small but bubbly city called Jena. During my first trip, I somehow ended up staying in a city located 45 minutes away (don’t ask me how this happened). The city of Erfurt. Depending on how fast you drive (it’s Germany, you can virtually fly on the Autobahn), Erfurt is ~3-4 hrs from the Munich airport which was my port of entry. It is a city steeped in history, with quite a few notable personalities hailing from this lush expanse of real estate. As a person of color, I sometimes felt a little out of place. However, that didn’t stop me from getting around and taking some pictures.
I absolutely loved the peace and tranquility of Egapark. If I visit again, I’ll certain make a stop here.
