Epiphyllum oxypetalum, a Cactus

Epiphyllum oxypetalum, night blooming cereus flowers from June-September.

This flower blooms only one night a year and it’s flower wilt before dawn.

Blooming typically happens between sunset and midnight and it takes atleast an hour to three for all the petals to unfold. Once they do, a wave of fragrance will flood its area and senses of those around it , beckoning them like pheromones to marvel at its beauty.

At first I confused orchid cactus to Night of the Queen, they both look similar, but are entirely from different species. But both look beautiful and when they blossom, it a sight to behold! We in India call Night of the Queen as Brahma Kamal!
