A Small Step for the Environment, A Special Recognition from UNICEF!
Today, World Environment Day, I’m incredibly happy to share about an important campaign I participated in on May 28, 2025.
As a proud member of Local Guides Bangla, along with Faysal Bhai and @sohelahmedsujon , I took part in a youth-led cleanliness and recycling drive.
This collective effort by our young generation to protect the environment was truly remarkable and impactful. I was especially delighted to join this campaign, as it served as a crucial platform for combating Plastic Pollution and safeguarding our Environment.
We Local Guides don’t just contribute information to Google Maps; we make significant contributions, both virtually and physically, to keep our planet clean. During this campaign, we located plastic recycling points and updated their information on Google Maps. When writing reviews for businesses or establishments, we always make sure to mention their awareness of dustbin management and their role in environmental protection. Personally, in every review I write, I include details about cleanliness and pay special attention to important aspects like accessibility and waste bins. This is a part of our responsibility as Local Guides.
I’m truly honored that UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) has recognized our efforts by presenting me with a certificate. This recognition is not just a piece of paper; it reaffirms my commitment to environmental protection and strengthens my dream of a positive change for the future. As a Local Guide, I’m always striving to bring about positive change in my community and contribute to raising environmental awareness, and this achievement is a valuable reflection of that dedication.
This special recognition further inspires me to continue working towards fostering environmental consciousness and contributing to building a greener tomorrow. Every small step is important, and through collective efforts, we can make our planet more beautiful and livable.
