Enriching Someone's Search Experience

I’ve been using Google Maps since quite a long time and it has truly been a life saver in critical times. Local Guides is something I actively started using almost 2 years back and since then there’s no looking back. There was a realization that over the course of time, there has been a massive level of information overload. Something that could be a big challenge for Google as a product itself. Now, this is where I decided to contribute in my own way to add value to this ecosystem. So, I generally prefer to give longer & detailed reviews of places that I have visited. Most importantly, adding reviews for places that may not be much reviewed.

The idea is that in this clutter of massive reviews, where it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between multiple reviews and reach to some conclusion, how do you write something that is helpful. I’m speaking from experience, there are times when after going through a series of reviews it ends up confusing me even more. So, I make it a point to submit a review that covers perspectives that would be helpful in the process of making a decision. That’s one of my quest with not just being a local guide, but even professionally with the work I do. Local Guides Connect is a helpful platform that allows me to do exercise this idea at scale.

I intend to continue with this quest and would love to know about people’s thoughts on their search experiences.

Cheers

Amyth
