Enjoy various poutine!

*First of all, I apologize for my incomplete English grammar. Please read this post considering I’m not from an English-speaking country.

Who doesn’t like the combination of freshly fried French fries, hot gravy sauce and chewy cheese curds? It makes us happy just by imagining it. And because there are so many people in Canada who love poutine, the La Poutine Week is held periodically every year in Canada. As a Korean resident in Quebec, I enjoyed this event very much. Maybe more than Québécois!(I know, that is impossible.)

I would like to introduce the unique and delicious Poutine I’ve tasted in Quebec.

This was the first poutine to taste through Poutine Week. It was uniquely made of rabbit and deer meat. I’ve never tasted these meat before! The rabbit meat was very soft and juicy, very similar to the feeling of chicken. Deer meat was tough and a little dry than I thought, but the texture contrast with the rabbit meat was not bad at all. The sauce was rich and deep, so it made the meat taste better.

This poutine is also what I ate last year. I think you have already noticed many things in the picture. Pulled pork, A chicken drumstick and even mac and cheese! I could taste all of this in this bowl. Personally, I like to taste various foods little by little. So this was totally my type of poutine! Everything was well harmonized with one another.

Location: Café au Bonnet Donkey

This was poutine that from La Poutine Week in February this year. And it’s made at a Portuguese restaurant. While the overall taste was not much different from normal poutine, the sausage was very unique and good. I think it was Chorizo or Linguica, a traditional Portuguese sausage(not sure tho). It tasted like the middle of sausage and jerky.

Location: LioFesta

What more words do I need? St-Hubert’s poutine was just perfect. Sauce, french fries and cheese curd would have been enough, but they added crispy chicken and sweet chili to it. Wow, just wow. This is the advantage of a big franchise. It doesn’t offer a very unique taste, but it does offer a stable taste.

Location: Rotisserie St-Hubert

I can’t wait for next year’s Poutine Week! I hope more people can enjoy the event in more cities next year.

Thank you for reading my post. ?

These are some fancy poutine dishes! I’m so used to the classic versions. Below is one I’ve eaten most recently at The Other Side in Sacramento, California. So tasty!
