Do you want to know how I started as Google local guide?
When I was 19 I went to university and I moved to another city (Olomouc, Czech Republic, 90 km away from my home). So I started to search for new clubs and activities, food shops, bars etc. Olomouc is a typical student´s city, there is 100 000 people and 40 000 students (!) almost half of the city are students. So the best source of information is internet! You can find there almost everything with 100+ reviews.
In that time it was not something special for me. But when I started my first job in corporate, I started to search pretty fast (:D) when I was in another country and needed a good hotel. Than I was complete in hands of people, who visited those places years before me. And I started to appreciate a good will of somebody to write review.
The time goes fast when you travel like 42 000km per year by car and 15-20x you have to fly somewhere to another state. I visited almost all states in Europe during this time and I can only say thank you very much everybody who wrote even if only one review.
So what does Google local guides means for me? For me it is a big opportunity to invest my good will, to give a good review to small local service. I´m very happy when I´m in some great place, which has no any review on the internet and I can be the first who help this place to be seen! I don´t think this should be a place of hate, if you have some issue with services, you should solve it in shop first, but you can do a big thing to invest just a piece of your time to say ,thank you and you were great"!
On the end of this article, I would like to say ,thank you and you were great" to my last accomodation, that I tryed during me journey: It was a night in green house of Chateu Kotěra (web )
